Accreditation commences April 1, 2020 for a five-year period.

4. Comprehensive Review
The Self-Check Report is clearly written, and the supporting evidences are well documented. There are 7 MBA programs offered by the School. However, for the purposes of ABEST21 re-accreditation, the program referred to is the MBA (General Management). The School’s main uniqueness is its human governance philosophy. The School has shown the commitment to continuously improve across all standards. Sophisticated management mechanism was introduced, including quality improvement system. This mechanism has been correctively maintained and it is the key for successful operation.
The program learning outcomes are well explained, and the human governance philosophy is embedded throughout the program. The alumni and the students we interviewed shared their understanding on human governance and its roles. The issues for improvement include measuring effective human governance, globalization of the School, diversity of the faculty members and staff career advancement. Nonetheless, most of these issues have been addressed in the action plans, showing the continuous improvement of the School. Therefore, the autonomy given to the School was the right decision to make it the leading business school not only in the country but possibly in the Asia region.
Overall, we strongly support PBS to be re-accredited. The existing PBS is good and has strong foundations, and with clear improvement plan it would be able to achieve its vision and mission.

The mission of PBS is to nurture business leaders with human governance. PBS expects that its graduates will lead their business with strong ethical values in order to prosper and serve the society. The Human Governance philosophy represents the uniqueness of PBS. Although this theme is very difficult in MBA education, the issue of Human Governance must be challenged and discussed at the early stage of management education.
6. Matters to be noted
i. The alumni that we interviewed were the graduates of the MBA program developed by UPM and managed by PBS. We take note that the School has yet to have its own graduates of the home-grown program.
ii. As it has been explained in the action plan, PBS needs to be able to measure the achievement of the Human Governance philosophy in the curriculum or in the graduates.
